I have three poems, two drawings and a cartoon in the Fall issue of Transition. You should send them something, too.

What’s the Moon?

What’s the moon?

A PANCAKE.

And syrup is the sun.

It dumps its lovely goldenbutterstuff

on everyone.

From Monkey Shines, an unpublished manuscript of night-themed poetry for children.

COOKIE LORRIE

Oh so sorry,

Cookie Lorrie,

but you’ve got to come!

The world has fallen

all to bits – it’s

nothing but a crumb.

Step inside, take a seat

upon the Wondrous Cookie Sheet.

I’ll tie a cape around your neck

and bake you hard as clay.

In all your crispy glory, Cookie Lorrie,

save the day!
