“The fox had such large, comical eyes. They were like the kind you’d stick on a walnut…”
A new story featuring my old friend, Mr. Penny – and his friend, a cartoon fox. Read it over at The Walrus, here.

A new year … and a new story. Read my latest for The Walrus, “Charlie,” right here. It’s about a drunk elephant … and a miraculous boy. It’s dedicated to my friend Muzi, who vanished a long time ago…
From now on, my Walrus stories will appear every two weeks – every second Tuesday.

Long, long ago (in 2010), I wrote a series of stories about a damaged and enigmatic man known only as Mr. Penny. Those stories can all be found in my first short fiction collection, God’s Autobio, a book read by no one.
Very, very recently (in 2015), I wrote a few new Mr. Penny stories. Who can say why? These will be published throughout December by The Walrus, a magazine read by a great many people.
The first of the new Mr. Penny Stories, “Mr. Penny Sees Red,” the best one to date, I’d say, is now live. Read it here. And do let me know what you think of it…
“Two Hearts,” a flash fiction which first appeared on this blog, has been picked up by The Walrus. Read the revised story – and peruse the new illustration – right here.
If you enjoy the story, don’t be timid about letting The Walrus know via Twitter, Facebook, email (email@example.com) or all of the above 😉
As always, thanks for reading. Your interest keeps me going. That, and coffee…
Your Fictional Friend,
