Hello, Friends – – –
You might like my brand new, darkly humorous, illustrated essay, “Mr. Grimsby,” which was just published in Cutleaf. It’s about a dark visitor who’s familiar to many of us…
That’s all.

Hello, Friends —
It’s been a minute.
I’ve popped in to tell you about my new, humorous essay, The Lonely Life: A Quest for Friendship in the Digital Age, which was published today in Plenitude. You might like it.
Also — I have a poem (about lunar pastry) in the forthcoming hardcover children’s anthology Whale of a Time: A Funny Poem for Every Day of the Year, due this fall. Other contributors include Maya Angelou, Hilaire Belloc, Roald Dahl, Edward Lear and Ogden Nash, so I’m in good company. The cover is very nice, too:

How have you been?

Hello, Friends —
From time to time, I am an enormous teddy bear…
As a Kinsman, I help raise funds for special equipment and travel assistance for life-saving procedures for children and adults in dire need. Like my little friend Miss Blake, above, who taught this clumsy bear how to dance.
Miss Blake is a paraplegic and wheelchair user with complex medical needs. She loves to dance and race her wheelchair.
For her 4th birthday, Miss Blake is asking everyone to donate to her campaign for Telemiracle, the foundation that’s helped her so much over the years.
Here’s the link to her campaign.
We’d both be so grateful if you could help out.
Thank-you so much, friends.

Cheers —

Hello, Friends – – –
My latest humorous essay is about the early months of the pandemic, and the quest for a decent cup of coffee. It was recently a runner-up for a minor literary prize.
Read it here.
(Note: only the nicest people in the world buy me a coffee).

Hello, Friends – – –
The final issue of one of my favorite magazines, Short Circuit, is out today.
A bittersweet moment, but I’m happy to have two pieces in it.
The first is a very short story, The Sweet Striper.

The second is a poem, I do not begrudge the young.
